Today (Saturday) we woke up in the comfy Grand Wailea bed, and my mom and Sidda swung by to pick us up. We checked out and headed back to my parents house to pack up some snacks and swimsuits for the Twin Falls Hike. The Twin Falls are off the Hana Highway, actually, right at the end (or start, depending on the way you go), and a pretty popular hike.
You park in the designated lot (or further up), there is a fruit stand and next to the stand a gate. This is private property but they let tourists and locals in with the understanding that you will respect the land and the rules. Its a fairly short hike to the three different pool areas, and while there are guided tours- its seriously so easy to figure out on your own. Wear watershoes or shoes you can easily walk through water in and still be comfortable hiking in wet.
And here are Brians jumps! He LOVED it!!
On our way out we grabbed a coconut to drink, some fresh banana bread, and some mangoes and headed back to the parents house. The breeze is blowing pretty strong today and its cooling it off a little which I truly appreciate- Kihei is very dry and hot, and when hot and I meet, we have a hard time getting along. Mom whipped up some Pico de gallo, the kids are swimming with their grandparents, and its about as perfect a day as can be. We had more pig tacos for dinner (Kalua Pig is pretty much the best thing ever), and ended the night by sitting outside watching Anthony Bourdains new CNN show, sipping drinks. Pretty good, right?
